Tarek Mohana, O.D.
Optometrist & Co-Founder
Dr. Mohana was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 1997, then received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2002.
After graduating, Dr. Mohana gained experience across a range of clinical settings before opening SpecialEyes Optometry in Lancaster in 2008 and expanding to Santa Clarita in 2009 — alongside his wife, Dr. Pedarsani.
His clinical focus includes contact lens fittings for complex prescriptions, LASIK candidacy evaluation and post-operative co-management, and the diagnosis and management of eye disease. Patients consistently describe him as warm, unhurried, and genuinely invested in their outcomes — qualities that have built a loyal patient base across the Santa Clarita Valley over more than 15 years. He sees patients in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
Nasim Pedarsani, O.D.
Optometrist & Co-Founder
Dr. Pedarsani was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 1998, then completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2003.
Following graduation, Dr. Pedarsani completed a one-year residency at the West Side VA Hospital in Chicago, specializing in Ocular Disease and Low Vision — one of the most clinically intensive post-doctoral programs available to optometrists. After six years of practice in Chicago, she and Dr. Mohana returned to California to serve the community she grew up in.
Dr. Pedarsani is particularly known for her work with children and first-time patients. Parents regularly comment on her ability to make anxious kids feel comfortable, and her thorough, patient-centered approach has made her one of the most trusted optometrists in the Santa Clarita Valley. She is also fluent in Farsi and Spanish.
